What to expect
Cropping hides the edges rather than deleting them: the writing outside the box is still inside the file, so this is not a way to blank out private details. To take words out for good, use Edit PDF.
It changes what you see, not the sheet a printer uses. To put every page on A4 or Letter, follow with Resize pages.
One box can be applied to the whole file, which suits pages that are alike; a mixed scan is better done page by page.
If the real goal is fitting more onto each printed sheet, Pages per sheet saves far more paper than cropping does.

No. The pages are shown and cropped inside your browser, on your device. Your PDF is never sent to us or anyone else.
Does cropping delete what is outside the box?
No, and this matters. Cropping a PDF sets the page boundary, so readers show only the part you kept, but the rest is still inside the file and another tool can bring it back. Every PDF cropper works this way. If the edges hold something private, delete those pages or remove the text with the PDF editor instead.
Can I crop pages of different sizes together?
Yes. The box is measured as a share of each page rather than in millimetres, so “trim 5% off each edge” works the same on every page in the file.
Will it crop a page that is on its side?
Yes. The box follows what you see on screen, and the crop is worked back into the page’s own coordinates, so a turned page is cropped where you expect.
Can I undo a crop?
Keep your original file and crop it again. In the cropped file itself the edges are hidden, so cropping it a second time starts from what is left.
Why can’t I open my password-protected PDF?
Protected files are encrypted, so their pages can’t be read or changed. Remove the password first, then open the file again.
