PDF Editing and Signing Tools

PDFSahl’s PDF editing and signing tools work in your browser, with nothing to install. Edit and sign PDFs free: no sign-up, no subscription, no limits, and your files never leave your device. No watermark is added to what you download.

Tools in this group

Rather than one crowded editor, each job has its own tool. Edit PDF changes or deletes the words already in the file, inside the file itself. Add text to PDF writes new words anywhere on a page, and Fill a form types answers into the boxes of a fillable form. Sign PDF adds a signature you draw, type or upload. Add an image places a logo or a stamp, and Annotate PDF highlights, draws and leaves notes.

To finish a document, Add page numbers, Header and footer and Add watermark put the same mark on every page. Flatten PDF makes form answers part of the page, and Compare two PDFs shows what changed between two versions. Passwords, redaction and hidden data have a group of their own: PDF security & privacy.

Arabic is treated as a first language, not an afterthought: letters are joined, lines run from the right, and Arabic mixed with English or numbers stays in reading order, so these tools suit Arabic documents as well as English ones. One honest limit: a signature made here is a picture of your signature, not a certified digital signature.

Your own documents

Every tool in this group is for documents you created or are allowed to change, sign or stamp. Editing a document someone else issued, signing with another person’s signature or copying another organisation’s stamp can be fraud, and each tool page says so.

Common mistakes

Trying to edit a scan. A scanned page is a picture, so Edit PDF finds no words on it to select. To add a date or fill in a scanned form, write on top with Add text to PDF; our guide on why you can’t edit the text in a scanned PDF covers the rest.

Covering text with a white box. A box only hides words on the screen: they can still be selected, copied and found by searching. Edit PDF removes text from the file itself, and Redact PDF removes it under a black box and checks the finished file.

Treating a drawn signature as a digital one. Sign PDF places a picture of your signature, which is what most everyday paperwork asks for, but it does not prove who signed. Visual and digital signatures explains when that difference matters.

Typing over a form that has real fields. If a PDF form has boxes you can click, Fill a form types into them properly. If it has none, our guide to filling a PDF form with no fillable fields shows the way round it. Once the form is filled, Flatten PDF makes the answers part of the page.
